# Build a terrace-sized gang vocal

**I AM CHOIR workflow · Gang**

**Use it when:** Chants, shouted refrains, crowd moments, a "hey!" that needs a room full of people.

## The win

Hear the Gang Vocals before and after demo on this page.

## Settings to start with

| Choir | Mic | Layers |
|---|---|---|
| Shout (Gang Vocals) | C24 for clean, U67 for grit | Off. Build size with takes instead |

## The system

1. Record several separate shouted takes of the part. One voice per take.
2. Process each take through Shout on its own.
3. Compare C24 for a cleaner crowd against U67 for more grit on the same take.
4. Drag every output in and spread them across the stereo field.
5. Nudge a few takes a few milliseconds early or late so it feels like a real crowd.
6. Glue the bus with gentle compression and a short room reverb.

## You nailed it if

- It sounds like many people, not one person copied.

## Skip this

- Feeding Shout a melodic, sung line. It is built for shouts and chants.
- Feeding it an already layered crowd recording.
